SkinCare

I would like to share with you the importance of good skincare. Why? What are the benefits and how will it make your skin feel afterwards!

So if you think that cleaning your face with a peace of soap and running out of the bathroom is the answer to a soft healthy skin then keep on reading ;-)

The first thing you need to bear in mind is what type of skin you have; normal, dry, oily or combination skin. Then you have to follow a routine and stick with it.

A morning routine and an evening/ before going to bed routine is essential in order to have a healthy flawless skin. Also it is quite important to give it at least a month the time to see good results.

Step one: Cleanse

A good cleaning product needs to contain no alcohol, PH  balancing ingredients and match your skin type. The way to use it is by massaging it into your skin either with your hands, a manual or electric face brush or a washcloth. Remember to be gentle and don't scrub you skin because that might cause irritation or scars. The product that works for me as I have combination skin that is Blemish-prone, is the Paula's choice Normalizing Cleanser Pore clarifying Gel

Step two: Exfoliate

Exfoliating means removing the old dead skin and prevent breakouts. This step can be done using an Exfoliant product like the Paula's Choice Skin perfecting 2% BHA Gel with Salicylic Acid, I use it every other day in my night routine because too much use might cause irritation!

Step three: Treat

If you have spots, breakouts or blemishes you can now use the treatment that works for you. I treat my spots with Benzoylperoxide Hydrogel  5%

If you need to reduce wrinkles you can use a serum for example
Wait a couple of minutes and go to the next step

Step four: Moisturize and Protect

All types of skin need to be moisturized (YES! also if you have oily skin) and protected from the sun that can cause skin damage. Therefore you need to use a gentle moisturizer with SPF at least 15 in the morning and a deep moisturizer with good vitamins at night.

My day creme is the Skin Balancing Daily Mattifying Lotion SPF15 with Antioxidants from Paula's Choice

My night cream is the Resist Anti-Aging Clear Skin Hydrator From Paula's Choice

If you follow these steps and stick with them for a couple of weeks you will see and feel the difference for sure.

Remember to check the PH balance of the water in the area you live in and adapt you skincare routine to it.
Or choose products that balance everything out.

Spice up the dark days.. Wear colored Mascara!!!!

Let me introduce to you the Collection 2000 Extreme colored lengthening Mascara in Blue, Purple and Green.
Now the reason why I'm writing this blog is not to talk about collection 2000 but to talk about colored mascara. I find it lots of fun and gives a bright bold appearance. It looks fantastic on girls with dark eyes and looks amazing on girls with green or blue eyes if you add a dark line around it with a black eyeliner or eye-shadow.

As it is snowing these days and everything is turning white, light and bright, the cheeks and the nose are turning  pink and the colored snow boots come out of the closet, why not go crazy and also add color to your lashes!!!

These ones from Collection 2000 are great because not only they are good pigmented and very affordable but they also lengthen and give volume ;-)

Give it a try and let me know!
Take care

Urban Decay Vice Palette Review!

A couple of months ago I found out about the Vice palette of Urban Decay through YouTube and was impressed by the colors and the packaging. I thought, could this be the palette that I can use for all the glamorous and colorful looks I like to do?!!

So as it was sold out here in Holland I purchased one in London when I was visiting a friend. The price there was 42 Pounds, here it's 45 Euro and on the Urban decay website it's 59 US Dollars.

The packaging is sleek and from plastic which makes it easy to store either in your make-up kit or in your make-up drawer/ closet. It is way better then individual eye-shadows!

Now lets talk about what is inside the palette, it contains 20 shadows and each shadow contains 0.8g of product. Also it comes with a two side brush from Good Karma to apply and blend with.

The vice has 4 mat shades and the rest are shimmery and shiny, the mix of colors is perfect to create any kind of look you like. From warm and soft to bright and vibrant!!!

Recently I tried it on some of my clients and also om myself and I love it, the pigmentation is very good and easy to apply. Only with the shades that are a bit soft, you need to apply them gently and they might cause a bit of  fall out, therefore I advice to do your eye make-up before the rest of the face

So do I recommend this product?? Yes of course!!! It's good and contains the colors that I love. Will I be able to create all the looks I want with this palette?! Of course not, it doesn't have enough colors and also because it doesn't contain enough mat shades.

However it is a must have for every beauty guru out there. You can either make yourself or someone else happy with it ;-)

The colors I used for this look are Anonymous, Black Market, Unhinged, Occupy and Desperation :-)

Enjoy and take care! xxx
