CATRICE LIQUID LINER!! My favorite eye-liner for 2013

This eye-liner is for me the best low-coast eye-liner for this year ( 2013). Cheap, good and easy to use.

The color I have is 010 Dating Joe Black and has a mat finish. The packaging is sleek and the size of the liner is perfect for a good grip.

I'm a big fan of eye-liner and am always looking for a good product that stays on all day long without fading away or smudging. I use all kind of liners, gel, pencil, eye-shadow but at the end I always fall back to the liquid liner because it's all in one. I don't need a brush and so I don't need to take more make up/ tools in my bag.

Of course it is not easy to use a liquid liner if you are not used to it but it is just a matter a practice and watching a lot of How To's videos on YouTube :)

So the CATRICE LIQUID EYE LINER comes in a classic eye liner packaging but the deference will be the felt tip. Normally an eye liner comes with a very fine brush but this one has a felt pen tip that you dip in the product. This will give more precision and a fine line if needed.

It has a mat finish and really stays on all day or night long. Perfect for everyday look or a heavy evening look.

It contains 1.7 ml/ 0.05 fl.oz of product and it costs 3.79 euros. You can find it in all drugstores that sell the CATRICE brand.

I hope you found it useful :)

Take care

The essential make-up brushes you need

In order to create the perfect look you need tools, which means make-up brushes and sponges.

I would like to share with you the most important brushes I use every day. I will keep it short and show only the necessary tools you need to have on your make-up stand.

Foundation:

I either use a synthetic buffing brush or a sponge. The sponge should always be damped and on the brush you can spray a bit of water before dipping it in the foundation for a soft well blended look.

Powder:

A big fluffy brush does the job almost always. The Real Techniques one I use is perfect all over the face because of its shape. Also multi- functional because it can be used for bronzer and highlight. A powder puff is great for those who have dry skin.

Eyes:

An application brush, a blending brush and an eye-liner brush are THE brushes that will help you create any eye look you want. So remember it's all about blending :)

Blush and Contour:

An angled soft brush is great to apply blush, bronzer, contour and highlight.

Lips:

A lip brush could be optional because we use bullets and glosses, but if you want to create a perfect red lip or a bold look then a lip brush does come in handy.

For concealer and cream blushes I like to use my fingers because the body temperature helps blend in the product very well.

And there you have it friends! For me these are the essential brushes and tools I use and also what i think you need if you are a starter or a makeup fan.

Hope you find it useful.

Take care!!

NYX Cosmetics review!

After using the NYX make-up for over a year now I thought it's time to write some reviews about the products that I like.

NYX is a great affordable brand that can either be used professionally if you are a makeup-artist or for everyday use if you like make-up and don't want to spend much on it.

My first favorite product will be the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil: Price 4.99€

These pencils are Multi-functional, that's why I love them. You can use them as an eye pencil, a eye-shadow  a base for your powder eye-shadow, a lip-liner/stick and some colors can be used to highlight and contour.

Easy to smudge, blends well and is creamy enough to be used as a lipstick. The colors come out exactly as they look on the pencils and lasts all day or evening long!!

I personally use it for all the mentioned above, from extreme to day-to-day make-up!

The next product will be the NYX soft matte lip cream: Price  4.99€

This is not a lipstick nor a lip gloss, it goes on with a matte finish but keeps your lips moisturized. Perfect for everyday use but my experience with it is that it needs touching up every now and then.

Definitely worth the price and worth having in your make-up bag.

The NYX Rouge cream blush, this shade is Tea Rose: Price 6.99€

Cream blushes give you this natural glow and if applied well, no one can see that you are wearing a blush which is what we all want right?

This product is creamy enough to blend well in the skin, it contains enough pigmentation to give you the effect you want to reach and suits all skin types especially mature and dry skin.

The NYX Matte blotting paper: Price 2.99€

My skin tents to get shinny true out the day. especially in the summer or in a warm climate, there fore I use the blotting paper. It absorbs away the oil/ shine and keeps the make-up in place. I prefer to use this method then to powder my face all day long.

I always have it in my bag because it makes live so easy ;-)

And there you have a quick review about the NYX product I use the most. As you can see they are all under the 10€ but works just as good as the high-end brands out there.

Also good to know that NYX is cruelty free brand :-)

Hope you find it useful and see you next time.

Take care!

SkinCare

I would like to share with you the importance of good skincare. Why? What are the benefits and how will it make your skin feel afterwards!

So if you think that cleaning your face with a peace of soap and running out of the bathroom is the answer to a soft healthy skin then keep on reading ;-)

The first thing you need to bear in mind is what type of skin you have; normal, dry, oily or combination skin. Then you have to follow a routine and stick with it.

A morning routine and an evening/ before going to bed routine is essential in order to have a healthy flawless skin. Also it is quite important to give it at least a month the time to see good results.

Step one: Cleanse

A good cleaning product needs to contain no alcohol, PH  balancing ingredients and match your skin type. The way to use it is by massaging it into your skin either with your hands, a manual or electric face brush or a washcloth. Remember to be gentle and don't scrub you skin because that might cause irritation or scars. The product that works for me as I have combination skin that is Blemish-prone, is the Paula's choice Normalizing Cleanser Pore clarifying Gel

Step two: Exfoliate

Exfoliating means removing the old dead skin and prevent breakouts. This step can be done using an Exfoliant product like the Paula's Choice Skin perfecting 2% BHA Gel with Salicylic Acid, I use it every other day in my night routine because too much use might cause irritation!

Step three: Treat

If you have spots, breakouts or blemishes you can now use the treatment that works for you. I treat my spots with Benzoylperoxide Hydrogel  5%

If you need to reduce wrinkles you can use a serum for example
Wait a couple of minutes and go to the next step

Step four: Moisturize and Protect

All types of skin need to be moisturized (YES! also if you have oily skin) and protected from the sun that can cause skin damage. Therefore you need to use a gentle moisturizer with SPF at least 15 in the morning and a deep moisturizer with good vitamins at night.

My day creme is the Skin Balancing Daily Mattifying Lotion SPF15 with Antioxidants from Paula's Choice

My night cream is the Resist Anti-Aging Clear Skin Hydrator From Paula's Choice

Night Routine

Day Routine

If you follow these steps and stick with them for a couple of weeks you will see and feel the difference for sure.

Remember to check the PH balance of the water in the area you live in and adapt you skincare routine to it.
Or choose products that balance everything out.

I hope you find this useful and look forward to your experiences with skincare

Spice up the dark days.. Wear colored Mascara!!!!

Let me introduce to you the Collection 2000 Extreme colored lengthening Mascara in Blue, Purple and Green.
Now the reason why I'm writing this blog is not to talk about collection 2000 but to talk about colored mascara. I find it lots of fun and gives a bright bold appearance. It looks fantastic on girls with dark eyes and looks amazing on girls with green or blue eyes if you add a dark line around it with a black eyeliner or eye-shadow.

As it is snowing these days and everything is turning white, light and bright, the cheeks and the nose are turning  pink and the colored snow boots come out of the closet, why not go crazy and also add color to your lashes!!!

These ones from Collection 2000 are great because not only they are good pigmented and very affordable but they also lengthen and give volume ;-)

Give it a try and let me know!
Take care

Urban Decay Vice Palette Review!

A couple of months ago I found out about the Vice palette of Urban Decay through YouTube and was impressed by the colors and the packaging. I thought, could this be the palette that I can use for all the glamorous and colorful looks I like to do?!!

So as it was sold out here in Holland I purchased one in London when I was visiting a friend. The price there was 42 Pounds, here it's 45 Euro and on the Urban decay website it's 59 US Dollars.

The packaging is sleek and from plastic which makes it easy to store either in your make-up kit or in your make-up drawer/ closet. It is way better then individual eye-shadows!

Now lets talk about what is inside the palette, it contains 20 shadows and each shadow contains 0.8g of product. Also it comes with a two side brush from Good Karma to apply and blend with.

The vice has 4 mat shades and the rest are shimmery and shiny, the mix of colors is perfect to create any kind of look you like. From warm and soft to bright and vibrant!!!

Recently I tried it on some of my clients and also om myself and I love it, the pigmentation is very good and easy to apply. Only with the shades that are a bit soft, you need to apply them gently and they might cause a bit of  fall out, therefore I advice to do your eye make-up before the rest of the face

So do I recommend this product?? Yes of course!!! It's good and contains the colors that I love. Will I be able to create all the looks I want with this palette?! Of course not, it doesn't have enough colors and also because it doesn't contain enough mat shades.

However it is a must have for every beauty guru out there. You can either make yourself or someone else happy with it ;-)

The colors I used for this look are Anonymous, Black Market, Unhinged, Occupy and Desperation :-)

Enjoy and take care! xxx
